Elizabeth Kaye Storey of Carmi, passed away March 26, 2014 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN. She was 72. Kaye was a beloved and generous person and will be missed greatly by many. Born October 3, 1941 in Springerton, she was the daughter of Curt and Zilpha Carter who preceded her in death. She attended DeVries Beauty Academy in Evansville, operated Kaye's Kurl Shop in Springerton for ten years and retired from Martin & Bayley, Inc. after 20 years of employment. She was a lifelong member of Springerton Christian Church where over the years she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir and served in many other capacities.
She is survived by a daughter, Beth (Eric) Beckman and granddaughters, Ruby and Louise of St. Paul, MN; all of whom she adored. Also surviving are a brother, George Carter of Omaha; a sister, Amy (Mark) Cozart of Norris City; in-laws, Linda and Dwain Allyn of Enfield and Gerri Storey of Carmi; nieces and nephews, Melody (Kirk) Jones, Leslie and Gil Carter, Riley and Madison Cozart; stepmother, Shirley Carter; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and countless dear friends.
Funeral services for Elizabeth Kaye Storey, 72, of Carmi, will be Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. Burial will be in Springerton Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial gifts may be given in Kaye's name to the Springerton Christian Church and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home.
