Elizabeth Walsh Bone passed away January 5, 2014 at her home in Los Angeles with her family by her side. She was born in Carmi, Illinois on October 27, 1918, to James and Mary Walsh.
Elizabeth is survived by her sister, Mary Walsh Routery of Kona, HI; a daughter, Faith Bone Cosby (Gerald Waite); two grandsons, Ron and Eric Schlobohm; her much loved great grandaughters, Isabella and Emmie Schlobohm; her dear nephews, Michael and Gregory Routery, all of California. "Aunt Libby" is also survived by her brothers' family, nieces Julie Heberer, Joy Holloway, and nephews Jim Walsh and Rusty (Pat) Walsh.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl W. Bone; her brother, James Walsh; sister-in-law, Julia Walsh, and her parents.
Libby was a talented woman who could sew a suit that looked custom made, because it was. She loved to read and she loved to have company right up to the very end of her life. She was particularly fond of horses and going to the races, where those who knew her always asked for advice regarding which horse was going to win.
Her next favorite thing in life were her cats and she spoiled them beyond belief. They were the daily companions that turned into children.
A celebration of life was held in January, where her many friends and family gathered to talk about her wit, humor, openhearted personality, and how much she will be missed by all who knew her.
A graveside memorial service will be held Friday, May 30, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Kuykendall Cemetery near Carmi.
