Eleanor Hogan

Eleanor "Ellie" Lucille Hogan, 83 of Mt. Vernon, passed away Saturday April 2, 2016 at Deaconess Hospital in Evanville. She was born November 26, 1932 to Starlus and Hazel (Ashworth) Hogan.

She had  first worked for Peoples Bank and Trust that later became Old National Bank in Mt. Vernon for 50 years, retiring in 2002 as Senior Vice President. She was a graduate of Lockyear Business College. Ellie was a member of Mount Vernon General Baptist Church. She is a past officer holder of the Mount Vernon chapter of the Business and Professional Women's Club. For 27 years Ellie served as the treasurer of the Posey Humane Society. Ellie also trained and showed American Saddle Horses.

She is survived by her sister, Emily Behrick of Mt. Vernon; niece and nephews, Karen York, David and Charles Behrick all of Mt. Vernon and great niece and nephew, Kabreea Dunn of Naples, FL and Jacob York of Mt. Vernon. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Herman Morris Hogan and her brother-in-law, James Behrick.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday April 6, 2016 at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home at 1330 E. 4th St., Mt. Vernon with Rev. Ray Tucker officiating. Burial will be in Bellefontaine Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Posey County Humane Society.
