Edward Russell

Edward A. "Eddie" Russell, 47, of Carmi passed away at 6:52 a.m., Saturday, July 9, 2016 at his residence. He was born in Henderson, KY on September 20, 1968 the son of Edward and Nancy Bell (Holeman) Murphy. Eddie married Diana Lynn Pierce. He was a cross country truck driver.

Eddie is survived by his wife, Diana; his mother, Nancy Russell of Carmi; three sons, David (Gena) Simmons of Carmi, Daryl (Susan Schlotter) Simmons of Barnegart, NJ and David (Destanee Bacon) Russell of Princeton, IN; a daughter, Brittany Russell of Carmi; grandmother, Hazel Russell of Carmi; four grandchildren, Kadie and Lindsay Simmons, Carrie Schlotter and Zaiver Perry; a great-grandchild, Ryder Legrand; a brother, Paul Russell, Jr. of Crossville, a half-brother, Johnny Ray Murphy of Texas; a sister, Kimberley Alzate; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and a special aunt, Marsha.

He was preceded in death by his fathers, Edward Murphy and Paul Russell, Sr.; and grandparents, James William and Lorine (Marks) Holeman.

Funeral services for Eddie Russell, 47, of Carmi will be at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, July 11, 2016 at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. Burial will be in Melrose Cemetery in Carmi. Memorial contributions may be made in Eddie's memory to Campbell Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.
