Edward L. Hon, 68, of Granite City passed away at 3:25 a.m., Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro, IL. He was born September 28, 1946 in Princeton, IN the son of Edward Arnold and Martha Kathaleen (Oberle) Hon. Edward married Susan M. Kutey on April 30, 2004. He was a drug and alcohol counselor at the ARCH House in Granite City and U.S. Air Force Vietnam veteran. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and loved spending time with Susan and their dog, Jackson.
Edward is survived by his wife of 11 years, Susan; a daughter and son-in-law, Andrea and Kenny May of Carmi; and three grandchildren, Alex May and wife Torie, Kelsi May and Andrew May.
Graveside services and burial for Edward L. Hon, 68 of Granite City will be at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, September 22, 2015 in Melrose Cemetery in Carmi with Kenny May officiating and military rites by the Carmi American Legion and VFW. Memorial contributions may be made in Edward's memory to Wabash Christian Retirement Center. 216 College Blvd., Carmi, IL 62821 and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi who is in charge of arrangements.
