Edna Hampton

Edna L.Hampton, 89, of Enfield, passed away Tuesday morning August 18, 2015 at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro. She was born June 5, 1926 in Enfield, the daughter of Billy and Grace (Hosick) Phillips. She married Wilson E. Hampton on July 10, 1948 in Morganfield, KY and he preceded her in death on November 1, 1971.

Edna had worked as a Pharmacy Tech at Ruemlers Drug Store in Enfield. She was valedictorian of the Enfield Class of 1944. She played the piano for over 40 years at the Enfield General Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son, William (Vicki) Hampton of Enfield; her daughter, Linda (Kenneth) Ganoe of Enfield; grandchildren, Bradley Earl (special friend-Shelly) Brooks, Jenell (Kyle) Overturf, Tammy (Paul) Wilken, Christina Hampton, Melanie Hampton, Christopher and Charlotte Nipper; and fourteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, one brother, Robert Phillips and three sisters, Ollie Story, Mabel Thompson and Helen Phillips.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday August 21, 2015 at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Enfield with burial in Brush Harbor Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at stendebackfamilyfuneralhome.com
