Edith Allen

Edith Allen, 89, of Broughton, IL, passed away Monday, February 3, 2014 at 4:41 a.m. at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN. She was born June 5, 1924 in Hamilton County, IL, the daughter of Clifford and Mae (Harris) McKenzie. Edith married James Robert Allen November 13, 1942 and he preceded her in death on December 18, 1996. She was a cook for 25 years at Norris City High School and a member of Albion Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Edith is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Lela Mae and Larry Bishop of New Shawneetown, IL; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jim Allen of Norris City, IL and Lonnie Ray and Sandra Allen of Loogootee, IN; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a sister, Mary Bell; and a brother, Warren McKenzie.

Funeral services for Edith Allen, 89, of Broughton, will be Thursday, February 6, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City. Burial will be at Albion Cemetery in Norris City. Friends may call on Wednesday, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Cambell Funeral Home in Norris City.
