Edilia Post

Edilia “Lilly” Post, age 75, of Mt. Vernon, IN, passed away Sunday, March 18, 2012, at Deaconess Hospice Care Center. She was born July 14, 1936, the daughter of Evaristo and Arcadia (Trigo) Garcia. She married John Post April 27, 1968, in Victoria, TX, and he survives.


She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Vernon, IN. In addition to being a homemaker and mother, she especially loved her grandkids.


She is survived by her husband, John Post, of Mt. Vernon, IN; a son and daughter-in-law, Jeffery and Molly Post of Evansville, IN; a daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Michael Opitz of Wauwatosa, WI; eight brothers and sisters, six grandchildren, Nick, Jake, Luke, and Zack Opitz, and Marissa and Bailey Post; and other relatives and friends.


She is preceded in death by her parents; and four brothers and sisters.


A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 22, 2012 at 2:00 pm, at First United Methodist Church in Mt. Vernon, IN. A bereavement dinner will be held at 4:00pm in the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions made be made to First United Methodist Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Stendeback Family Funeral Home, 1330 E. Fourth St., Mt. Vernon, IN 47620.
