Edelene Sinnett, 92, of Posey County, passed away peacefully Tuesday night July26, 2016. She was born June 21, 1924, the daughter of Homer and Zelpha (Pate) Blair.
The last surviving charter member of West Terrace General Baptist Church. With a true servant’s heart, Edelene, known to close friends and family as Eddie or Ms. Eddie, could be found on any given day in her kitchen with her renowned hospitality ready to meet, greet and feed you. Her love for the Lord, her husband and her family was shown through everything she did. More youthful than her years, her warm heart, colorful and sometimes sassy personality, was reflected in her flare for style and love for the bird, with its vibrant colors, the peacock.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Arnold Sinnett, and her son Gregory, wife Phyllis Sinnett, brother, Byers (Jean) Blair. Surviving are her children; daughters Brenda, husband Bill Rohrbacher of Texas, Sherri, husband Joseph Wassmer, and son Mark, wife Jenni Sinnett. She was adored by her nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and three great, great-grandchildren; and her brother, Edgar Lee “Shorty” Blair.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday August 1, 2016 at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home at 1330 E. 4th St., Mt. Vernon with burial in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Evansville. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Juvenile Diabetes Association in care of the funeral home.
