Eddie Howard, 89, of Broughton, passed away at 4:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 25, 2014, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN. He was born February 27, 1924 in Broughton, IL the son of Sherman and Lillie Mae (Douglas) Howard. Eddie married Ica Ellen Wheeler December 3, 1945 and she preceded him in death June 6, 2013. He was a World War II Army Veteran and attended the Norris City Church of God. Eddie was a grain and livestock farmer and 60 year member of the Hamilton County Farm Bureau.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law Faye and Dennis Questell of Norris City; two granddaughters and Melissa Questell and Denise and Henry David Gross; three great-grandchildren David, Hunter, and Daphni Gross; siblings, Lucille Wilson of Norris City, John and Emily Howard of Lawrenceville and Linda K. and Gene Ellison of Norris City; and a sister-in-law, Rosa Lee Pool.
Eddie was preceded in death by a sister, Lois Spence and a brother, Charles Everett Howard.
Funeral services for Eddie Howard, 89, of Broughton will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, February 28, 2014 at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City with Brother Lyle Culp and Pastor Mike Campbell officiating. Burial will be in I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Norris City. Friends may call at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Memorial Contributions may be made to Shriner's Hospital for Children, 2001 S.
