Earl Shain

Earl Bertis Shain, 77, of Paragould, Arkansas formerly of Norris City, passed away at 7:10 p.m., Thursday, December 3, 2015 at Arlington Cove in Trumann, AR. He was born in Norris City, IL on July 6, 1938 the son of Earl and Inez Iola (Trusty) Shain. Earl married Bernadine Bowers on November 11, 1967. He was a farmer and had worked as a mechanic for Jeffrey Mining Equipment in Norris City, served in the U.S. Army Reserves and was a lifetime member of Mt. Oval Cumberland Presbyterian Church where he as an elder since 1964.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Bernadine of Paragould, AR; a son, Michael Shain of Paragould; AR; a brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and Marilyn Shain of Omaha, IL; and six grandchildren, Emily, Evan, Anna, Abby, Gabe and Lauren Shain. Earl was preceded in death by a half-sister, Berdene Hickman.

Funeral Services for Earl Bertis Shain, 77, will be at 1:00 p.m.,Monday, December 7, 2015 at Mt. Oval Cumberland Presbyterian Church near Norris City. Burial will be in Mt. Oval Cemetery near Norris City. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Sunday at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City and will lie in state from 12:00 p.m.until time of service at the church. Memorial Contributions may be made to Campbell Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
