Biography
Earl Ray Murphy, 61 of Dyer, IN and formerly of Carmi, passed away Friday February 20, 2015 at St. Margaret Hospital in Hammond, IN. He was born May 31, 1953 in Carmi, the son of Earl Max and Martha Faye (Pollard) Murphy.
Ray was an over the road truck driver, having worked for several companies including WSI in Mt. Vernon, IN. He enjoyed wood working and riding horses.
He is survived by four sons, Christopher (Melissa) Murphy of Trenton, ND, Steven (Lynn) Murphy of Rinard, Andrew and Taylor Murphy of New Haven; one daughter, Megan (Tim) Clifford of New Haven; 11 grandchildren, two brothers, Kevin (Lela) Murphy of Dyer, IN and Joey (Jean) Murphy of Mill Shoals; two sisters, Jean (Steven) Wood and Jane Deom all of Cabot, AR.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday February 26, 2015 at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Carmi with burial in Burnt Prairie Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Online condolences may be left at stendebackfamilyfuneralhome.com
