Earl Clippinger
April 4, 1918 — February 13, 2014
Earl E. Clippinger, 95, of Carmi, passed away Thursday, February 13, 2014 at 11:25 a.m. at Wabash Christian Retirement Center in Carmi. He was born April 4, 1918 in Carmi, Illinois, the son of Roy and Verna (Essery) Clippinger. Earl married Virginia Ruth Taylor on August 23, 1937 and she preceded him in death on February 8, 2003. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII and worked in advertising for the Carmi Democrat Tribune. Earl was a long time member of First United Methodist Church in Carmi and VFW Post #3851. He was an avid golfer and a licensed pilot.
Earl is survived by many friends and caregivers. Earl was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and a son, Eric Taylor Clippinger.
Per Earl's request, there will be no visitation or funeral services. Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi is in charge of arrangements.
