Dorothy F. Wangler, 95, of Carmi passed away Tuesday evening, August 19, 2014 at Wabash Christian Retirement Center. She was born February 6, 1919, in Booneville, IN, the daughter of James Virgil and Hattie (Leslie) Hart.
Dorothy attended Carmi East Side Pentecostal Church, was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary at Bethany Baptist Church in IN and had worked locally at several restaurants. Most of all, she was truly devoted to and took great pride in her family.
Survivors include sons Carl (Leona) Julian of Carmi and Daryl (Dolla) Julian of Nippa, KY; daughters Anna Sneed of Carmi, Anita (Tom) Pettay of Bentonville, AR and Belva Hutchinson of Evansville, IN; daughter-in-laws, Wilma Julian of Birds Eye, IN and Jerilee Wangler of Yankeetown, IN; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death her parents; husbands Claude Julian in 1978 and Edward Wangler in 2003; sons, James Julian and Alan Wangler; daughters, Gayle Glascock, Claudia Blazier, Kay Roberts, Jan Sutton and Carmen Harlow; brother Doris Hart; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Dorothy F. Wangler will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday August 23. 2014, at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Carmi with Chaplain Mike Fields officiating.
