Dorothy Short

Dorothy Ellen Short, 92, of Burnt Prairie, IL, passed away at 10:35 p.m., Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Wabash Christian Village.  She was born September 24, 1925, in Burnt Prairie, IL, the daughter of Conrad "Coonie" and Effie (Fulkerson) Juenger.  She married Alva Short on September 19, 1942 and he preceded her in death on September 6, 2009. She was a farm wife and was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church in Burnt Prairie.

Dorothy is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Nola and Ray Jones of Grayville; two sons and daughters-in-law Gary and Deloris Short of Carmi, and Jim and Karlos Short of Madisonville, KY; 8 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sons John, Terry and Larry Short, five brothers, a sister and one great-grandson.

Funeral services for Dorothy Short, 92, of Burnt Prairie, will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, April 16, 2018 at the Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi with Pastor Tim Collins officiating.  Burial will be in Centerville Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Monday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at Campbell Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made in Dorothy's memory to Mitchell Hickey Memorial Scholarship Fund or the Liberty Baptist Church and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi.
