Dorothy Knight

Dorothy Pauline Knight, 83, of Carmi, passed away at 2:52 p.m., Friday, July 21, 2017 at Linda E. White Hospice Center in Evansville, IN. She was born May 30, 1934 in New Haven, IL, the daughter of John William and Minnie Octavia (Whetstone) Evans. Dorothy worked as a CNA for 18 years at Wabash Christian Retirement Center, and 13 years at Mears Market.  She was a member of the American Legion and VFW Auxiliary.

Dorothy is survived by six sons, Bill (Jolene) Knight, Mike (Paula Dozier) Knight, Greg (Melissa) Knight, Doug (Tammy) Knight, and Rick (Kelly) Knight all of Carmi, and Steve (Connie) Knight of Grayville; four daughters, Elaine (John) Endicott, Sheryl (Mike) Blazier, Teresa (Kevin) Stocke all of Carmi and Barb (Whit) Myatt of Norris City;  two sisters, Betty Young of Carmi and Patty Rojas of Lexington, KY; brother, Jimmy (Jo) Fisher of Sylacauga, AL; sister-in-law, Von Fisher of Grayville;  30 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; a special friend and neighbor, Mary Delarosa, as well as her faithful four legged companion, Shortie.  She was preceded in death by her parents, John William and Minnie Evans, three sisters, Alta Leona Eckols, Peggy King and Janet Johnson, three brothers, Robert "Bob" Evans, David "Butch" Evans and Martin "Marty" Fisher.

Funeral services for Dorothy Pauline Knight, 83, of Carmi, will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Monday, July 24, 2017 at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi with Pastor Chris Marsh officiating. Burial will be in Stokes Chapel Cemetery in Crossville. Visitation will be  Monday, July 24, 2017 at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made in Dorothy's memory to Home of the Innocents, 1100 E. Market Street, Louisville, KY 40206, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, PO Box 97372, Washington, D.C. 20090, or the National Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, 1201 Story Avenue #200, Louisville, KY  40206 and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi, who is in charge of arrangements.
