Dorothy P. Jordan, age 102 of Enfield, died Monday morning September 23, 2013 at the Hamilton Memorial Nursing Home in McLeansboro. She was born December 5, 1910 in Enfield, the daughter of Ezekiel and Adelaide (Orr) Jordan.
Dorothy had worked as a secretary. She was a past parade marshall of the annual Enfield Mule Day Parade. She was the first woman elder of the 1st Presbyterian Church in Enfield.
She is survived by nieces, Maribeth (Robert) Zerkle of Mascoutah and Edwina (Ken) Johansen of Winchester, VA; great nieces, Sarah (Steve) Wilhelm of Mascoutah and Rachel (Christopher Dean) O’Neill of Maryville; and great-nephew, Christopher Johansen of Miami, FL.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Edwin Jordan; one sister, Elizabeth Jordan and three sisters in infancy, Helene, Katherine and Louise Jordan.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at the Enfield Methodist Church with Rev. Jon Westfall officiating. Burial will be in Enfield Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. The Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Enfield is in charge of arrangements.
