Dorothy Hoskins

Dorothy Hoskins, 88, of Norris City, passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado, IL.  She was born in Raleigh, IL on November 30, 1934 the daughter of Edgar Orval and Reba Ladean (Taylor) Black.  Dorothy married Carroll D. Hoskins on July 24, 1951 and he preceded her in death on October 6, 2022.  She was a member of The Roads Church in Norris City where she was a Sunday School teacher and loved working with the church youth.  Dorothy loved to share the gospel.  She worked alongside D at Hoskins Garage where she was the secretary.  Dorothy was an avid reader and had earned her GED and went on to obtain a Bachelor's degree in Theology.

    Dorothy is survived by her children, Carol (James) Fort of Frankton, IN and David (Carolyn) Hoskins of Norris City; grandchildren, Jacob Michael (Aimee) Knight, Caleb Seth Knight, Megan Fort and Madison (Sam) Moore; three siblings, Esther Mann of Brandon, FL, Charlie Black of Tampa, FL and Ed Black of Port Richey, FL; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

     Funeral Services for Dorothy Hoskins, 88, of Norris City will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 28, 2023 at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City.  Burial will follow in Powell Cemetery in Norris City.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 27, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Campbell Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.
