Dorothy Henderson

Dorothy Anna (Hunt) Henderson, 87, of Mt. Vernon, died at 8:20 AM, Monday, May 9, 2005 at Mt. Vernon Nursing & Rehab Center. Dorothy was born January 19, 1918 in Alliance, Ohio daughter of Roy B. and Harriet (Baier) Hunt. She was a welder with Babcock & Wilcox in Alliance, Ohio and had worked at Hironimus Grocery in Mt. Vernon. Dorothy also played on a women’s softball league in Ohio and was a bowler and an avid football fan. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a sister.
Dorothy is survived by her husband of 52 years, Robert Henderson, Sr. of Mt. Vernon; sons, Darl L. Henderson and his wife Sherry, Gerald A. Henderson and his wife, Brenda, and Robert W. Henderson, Jr. and his wife Kay all of Mt. Vernon, and a stepson, Larry Henderson and his wife Vicki of Massilon, OH; brothers, Ed, Ron and Ken Hunt all of Ohio; 6 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Friday, May 13, 2005 at Austin Funeral Home, 1330 East Fourth Street Mt. Vernon, IN with Rev. Troy DeKemper officiating. Friends may call from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Thursday, May 12, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to The Living Waters Hospice.
