Doris Winter

Doris Jean Winter, 86, of Evansville, IN and formerly of Carmi, died at 3:50 p.m. on Friday, October 28, 2016 at West River Health Campus in Evansville, IN.  Doris was born December 4, 1929, the daughter of Sherman and Dora (McGhee) Aud in Brownsville, IL.  Doris married Robert "Bob" Winter on February 20, 1948 and he preceded her in death on July 14, 2007.  She was a graduate of Carmi High School and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Carmi.  Doris was a loving mother, grandmother, and a loyal friend.  Her hobbies included shopping, crossword puzzles, and spending time with her family.

Doris is survived by two daughters, Cindy (Jim) Mallory of Evansville, IN, and Susan (Ken) Vickery of Westfield, IN; a son, Scott (Pharon) Winter of Wadesville, IN; 8 grandchildren, Rob Mallory, Patrick Mallory, Jennifer Milewski, Nealey Roll, Holly Daugherty, Matt Vickery, Kristen Winter and Faith Winter; and 12 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband Robert "Bob" Winter; parents Sherman and Dora (McGhee) Aud; and her siblings,  Scott Aud, Sherman Aud, Thurman Aud, Jewell Aud, Stella Hall, Ruby Shere, Gleta Belle Turner and Verba Turner.

Funeral services for Doris Jean Winter, 86, of Evansville, formerly of Carmi will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at Campbell Funeral Home with burial in West Union Cemetery near Carmi.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi and from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made in Doris' name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi.
