Doris Sanders

Doris Sanders, 95, of Cleburne, TX and formerly of Carmi passed away at 4:02 p.m., Friday, January 8, 2016 at the Hospice House of Burleson in Burleson, TX. She was born February 12, 1920 in Burnt Prairie Township, IL the daughter of Arthur Elbert and Luella Florence (Finch) King. Doris married Jack F. Sanders on July 31, 1938 and he preceded her in death on June 13, 2008. She was of the Protestant faith, having attending Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Burnt Prairie as a child. Doris worked as a sales clerk in various Dress Stores in Carmi and retired from Maxine's Dress Shop.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Alexas Sanders of Cleburne, TX; two grandson, Eric Sanders and Ian Sanders and wife Daniela; three great-grandchildren, Prater Jack Sanders and twins, Landon Drake and Sophia Grace Sanders; and several nieces and nephews.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 70 years, Jack; five sisters, Mamie King, Verna Botsch, Ellen Renshaw, Marie King, Velma Stewart; and five brothers, Claude, Olan, Ralph, Donald and Luther King.
Graveside funeral services and burial for Doris Sanders, 95, of Cleburne, TX will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 16, 2016 in North Maple Ridge Cemetery with Rev. Mike Buckman officiating. Friends may call at Campbell Funeral Home on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made in Doris's memory to American Breast Cancer Society, the American Cancer Society or the American Red Cross and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home.
