Doris Pleasant, 75, of Paducah, Kentucky and formerly of Norris City, passed away Friday, April 5, 2013 at 2:00 a.m. at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah. She was born July 23, 1937 in Gossett, IL, the daughter of Carl Thomas and Vada Ruth (Green) Johnson. Doris was a 1954 graduate of Norris City Omaha High School. She married Richard Earl Pleasant on May 9, 1959 and worked as an office manager for Marcum Engineering. Doris was a member of Lone Oak Baptist Church and a past president for Women In Construction.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Richard Pleasant of Paducah; two daughters and sons-in-law, Tracy and Larry Hagood of Ft. Thomas, KY and Kim and Chuck Meier of Paducah; a sister, Correne Sempsrott of Lebanon, TN a brother, Carl Dean Johnson and companion, Melba Ballard of Middletown, OH; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Curtis Johnson; a sister-in-law, Velma Johnson; and a brother-in-law, Hal Sempsrott.
A memorial visitation for Doris Pleasant, 75, of Paducah, Kentucky and formerly of Norris City, will be held Monday, April 8, 2013 from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City. Private burial will be in I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Norris City.
