Doris Greene

Doris Greene, 81, of Indepence, Missouri and formerly of Carmi, passed away Friday, November 30, 2012 at 1:10 p.m. at Blue Hills Nursing Home in Independence, MO. She was born March 17, 1931 in Arlington, Kentucky, the daughter of Brunice and Idell (Dunn) Hobbs. She married Robert Martin Greene on December 1, 1951 and he preceded her in death February 25, 2006. Doris was owner/operator of the Color Wheel in Carmi and a member of First Baptist Church in McLeansboro, IL.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Ronnie Kelley of Lea Summit, MO and Gail and Danny Phillips of Henderson, KY; three grandchildren, Chris Gibson, Staci Risley, and Marci Williams; and two great-grandchildren, Graci and Meah Risley. Doris was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a son, Robert Michael Greene; a sister, Juanita Jenkins; and a brother, Wilford Hobbs.
Funeral Service for Doris Greene, 81, formerly of Carmi, will be Monday, December 3, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi with the son-in-law Ronnie Kelley officiating. Burial will be in the White County Memorial Garden in Carmi. Friends may call at the Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi on Monday, after 9:00 a.m.
