Doris Floyd

Doris J, Floyd, 84, of Carmi passed away at 10:40 a.m., Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at Charlier Hospice Center in Evansville, IN. She was born on October 23, 1928 in Sumner, IL the daughter of Richard L. and Helen M. (Perrott) Provines. Doris married Richard Thomas Floyd, Sr. on Nov 19, 1949. He preceded her in death on November 29, 1996.

Doris was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Carmi and was a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Richard T. Floyd and wife Donna of Norris City; three grandchildren, Kristina Hertel (Joe Otte), Brent Floyd and wife Amber, Joe Floyd and wife Michelle; nine great grandchildren, Ashlie Gray (Nathan Tanner), Richard Gray, Chase Kramer, Noah Floyd, Peyton Floyd, Ethan Floyd, Devin Walters, Tyler Floyd, and Katie Floyd; and two great grandchildren, Nevaeh Barenfanger and Gabriel Tanner. Doris was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Janice Marie Gray; a brother, Lloyd Provines; and one granddaughter, Marisa Floyd.

Funeral Services for Doris J. Floyd, 84, of Carmi will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 23, 2013 at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi with Rick Absher officiating. Burial will be in White County Memorial Garden. Friends may call at Campbell Funeral Home on Friday from 12:00 p.m. until services time. Memorial Contributions may be made to the White County Senior Citizens, 113 S. Walnut, Carmi, IL 62821 or Charlier Hospice Center, 610 E. Walnut St, Evansville, IN 47713 and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi.
