Doris Collins

Doris Juanita Collins, age 84 of Mount Vernon, IN died Saturday evening April 25, 2009 at the Mt. Vernon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born April 17, 1925 in Mt. Vernon, the daughter of William and Irene (Dusky) Turner.


Mrs. Collins had worked as a Nurse Aid 20 years for Deaconess Hospital. She was a member of Owen Dunn Post #5 American Legion Auxiliary.


She is survived by one son, Thomas Wayne “Fly” Thompson of Mt. Vernon; two daughters and son-in-law, Phyllis and James Tron and Brenda Thompson all of Mt. Vernon.


Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday April 28, 2009 at the Austin Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, IN with burial in Bellefontaine Cemetery.
