Doris Jean Anselment, 84, of Carmi passed away at 1:38 p.m., Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro. She was born April 9, 1930 in Carmi the daughter of Virgil and Evelyn (White) Wright. Doris Jean married Ralph E. Anselment on August 22, 1947. She graduated from Carmi Township High School in 1946 and retired after 40 years from First Bank where she had worked in Bookkeeping and as a Teller. Doris Jean was a 64 year member of First Christian Church in Carmi where she was a part of the Christian Workers Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Joy Group and the Sewing Club for over 50 years.

Doris Jean is survived by her husband of 67 years, Ralph E. of Carmi; two daughters and a son-in-law, Ginny and Jeff Browning of Washington, IL and Connie Bingman of Carmi; a son, Mark Anselment of Thorntown, IN; five grandchildren and their families, Jacqueline and Jamie Miller and Michael of Champaign, IL. Justin and Joy Bingman and Elah of Evansville, IN, Benjamin Browning of Quincy, IL, Timothy and Emily Browning and Percy, Abram, Calvin and Willie of Washington, IL, and Julie and Austin Gohn of Pittsburgh, PA; a sister, Lois Ann Sheldon of Evansville, IN; a brother, Francis Wright of Evansville, IN; a step-sister and brother-in-law,, Glenda and Roger Buchholz of Rantoul, IL; and two step-brothers and sister-in-law, Bill and Mary Gates of Pontiac, IL and John and Kay Gates of Slidell, LA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her step-mother, Wilma Gates and a son-in-law, Terry Bingman.

Funeral Services for Doris Jean Anselment, 84, of Carmi will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at First Christian Church in Carmi with Steve McClure and Jeff Browning officiating. Burial will be in White County Memorial Garden in Carmi. Friends may call at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi on Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and after 10:00 a.m., Tuesday at the church. Memorial Contributions may be made in Doris Jean's memory to the First Christian Church and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home.
