Donnie "Kickstand" Bowman

    Donnie "Kickstand" Bowman, 63, of Norris City, passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2025. He was born on July 17, 1961, in McLeansboro, Illinois, the son of George Eugene and Norma Lynn (Anderson) Bowman. Donnie was married to Susan Bowman, and she preceded him in death on December 11, 2023. He graduated from Enfield High School in 1979. Donnie worked as a section hand at Norfolk Southern in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. He was a Union Rep for Brotherhood Maintenance Way. Donnie attended St. Patrick Catholic Church in Enfield. He was an avid motorcycle rider and enjoyed the many friendships and spending time with his club brothers. Donnie also enjoyed hunting and watching racing.

   Donnie is survived by his parents, Gene and Norma Bowman of Enfield, IL; his children, Dylan (Ashley) Bowman of Norris City, IL, Dalton (Serena Sullivan) Bowman of McLeansboro, IL. and Devyn (Paitton) Bowman of Enfield, IL; six grandchildren, Dawson Bowman, Wyatt Grein, Shailyn Bowman, Paisley Bowman, Dayne Bowman and Emersyn Bowman. He is preceded in death by his wife, Susan Bowman.

   Funeral services for Donnie Bowman will be held at 10:30 a.m.on Friday, February 21, 2025, at Enfield Christian Church, with burial at Enfield Cemetery. Family and friends may visit from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at Enfield Christian Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Donnie's memory to the Ronald McDonald House, the American Cancer Society or to Campbell Funeral Home to assist the family with expenses. Donations will be accepted at the church and may also be mailed to 609 W. Main St. Carmi, IL. 62821. Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City is in charge of arrangements.
