It is with heavy hearts that we wish to announce the passing of our beloved family member, Donna Davis. She was called home by her Lord and Savior on July 16, 2011. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, aunt, and child of Christ.
Born March 7, 1949 in Evansville, IN to Dorothy & Donald Hobby, Donna was the oldest daughter of seven siblings. She graduated from Mt. Vernon High School in 1967 and went on to become a master cosmetologist. She worked several years as a stylist in Washington, D.C., eventually owning her own salon. She enjoyed writing poetry, drawing, spending time with her family, and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Hobby, her brother, Perry Hobby, and her nephew, Anthony Hobby.
She is survived by her sons, Phyllip (Sara) Davis and Donavon Cassidy, her father Donald Hobby, her sisters, Pamela (Paul) Kendall, Cheryl Stewart, and Lori (Huston) McFarland, her brothers, Roger and Bryan Hobby, six grandchildren, Shaina, Phylisha, Cameron, Reese, Alana, and Chadé, several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. on July 21, 2011 at Memorial Baptist Church, 645 Canal St, Evansville, IN with visitation from 10 a.m - 1 p.m. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery at Mt.
