Donald E Hall, 74 of Carmi, passed away early Wednesday morning December 24th, 2014 at the Marion VA Hospital. He was born April 20th, 1940 in Junction, the son of Elmer and Evelyn Pauline (Richardson) Hall. He was married to Linda Patterson on April 15, 1964 in Manteno.
Donald retired as an operator for almost 30 years from The Carmi Light Plant. He was a United States Navy veteran having served during the Cuban Military Crisis and was a signalmen aboard the USS Neosho AO- 143. He was a member of the Carmi American Legion and VFW. And a member of the SASS (Single Action Shooting Society). Also he was a member of the Carmi New Beginnings Church of God.
He is survived by his wife, Linda. Two sons; Ronald (Brenda) Hall of Parkersberg, and Eric (Amanda) Hall of Carmi. Three daughters; Donna (Owen) Wilson of Griffin, Indiana, Sherry (Ivan) Hall of Shawneetown, Paula (Jim Patton) of Carmi. Eleven grandchildren; Brandie (Jason) Cooper, Whitney (Orlando) Matthews, Ryan (Kelsey) Hall, Jeremy (Andrea) Hall, Trisha (Lee) White, Josha Hall, Taylor Wilson, Arial Wilson, Hailey Ball, Havyn Hall, Coltlyn and Kaitlyn Hall. Four step - grandchildren; Tommy Hall, Paul Hall, Adam (Theresa) Hundley, and Zach Patton. Four great-grandchildren; Rowdy Hall, Noah Hall, Drake Cooper, and Mia Cooper. One step great-grandchild; Amanda Jackson. Two step great great-grandchildren; Avalyn and Hadley. One brother; Charles Garrison of Corbin, KY. One sister; Theresa Tharp of Carmi. Also several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents. One brother; Robert Garrison, two sisters; Phyllis Melton and Wanda Money and one brother-in-law; John Money.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday December 28, 2014 at the Carmi New Beginnings Church of God. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday December 29, 2014 at the Carmi New Beginnings Church of God. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Carmi American Legion and V.F.W.
