Dolores A. (Woodrow) Rose, age 82, of McLeansboro, IL, passed away Friday, March 29, 2013, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN. Dolores was born in Springerton, IL, on November 14, 1930. She married Glen Edwin Rose on August 20, 1948, at the Springerton Christian Church. He preceded her in death on April 19, 2010.
Dolores was a devoted and faithful member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints since September 1, 1945. She served many years as a Sunday School teacher and as the leader of the congregation’s Women’s Department.
She is survived by: a daughter, Deborah L. Rose of McLeansboro; three sons and their spouses, David and Janice Rose of Enfield, Danny and Tammy Rose of Springerton, and Darin and Chassity Rose, of McLeansboro; three grandchildren and their spouses, Brandon and Kim Rose of Las Vegas, NV; Dakota (Rose) and Kevin Baseden of Eldorado, and Drae Rose of Springerton; four great-grandchildren, Kaiden and Karson Baseden, and Chase and Raegan Rose; six step-grandchildren, Lacie Goff, Brian and Meghan Harl, Brittany Harl, Bethany (Harl) and Jason Waier, J.D. Rapp, Zachary Rapp and one step-great-grandchild, Braylee Waier. Other survivors include brothers Clyde (Alice) Woodrow of Enfield, Jimmy Don (Kathryne) Woodrow of McLeansboro, Jerry (Patricia) Woodrow of Carmi, and Larry (Carolyn) Woodrow of Mcleansboro; sisters Marlene (Eugene) McIntosh of Springerton and Janice Kay Woodrow of Hopkinsville, Kentucky; two sisters in-law, Marjorie Woodrow of Springerton and Marylee (Merrill) Cunningham of New Albany, Indiana, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer (“Bill”) and Naomi (Wilson) Woodrow and a brother, Jack Woodrow of Springerton.
Funeral services for Dolores Rose will be held at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Springerton. Burial will take place in Hammack Cemetery in Springerton. Visitation will be from 4:30 to 9:00 pm, Tuesday, April 2, at Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Enfield. Memorials may be made to the Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro or the McCoy Memorial Library in McLeansboro and will be collected at the funeral home.
