Diann Draper Williams, 70, of Norris City, Ill. left her earthly body to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2016 in the Critical Care Unit of Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, Ill. with her family by her side.
She was born on Oct. 15, 1945 in Eldorado, Ill to Howard George and Mary Alice (Holden) Draper. Diann was a loving wife, mother, a grandmother, sister and friend. She put her family first in all that she did until the day the Lord welcomed her home.
For many years, Diann fought a hard battle with an Autoimmune Disease that eventually took her life.
She was owner and operator of The Fashion Shoppe in Carmi as well as a homemaker and caregiver. She spent many years raising her children and grand children, she dedicated her life to her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard George and Mary Alice Draper of Carmi.
She is survived by her husband and best friend, James A. Williams of Norris City, Ill; five children, Sherrie (Buttry) Pollard, of Gatlinburg, Tenn., Todd (Penny) Buttry of Nederland, Colo., Mindie (Brian) Foley of Norris City, Ill., Jamie Williams of Springerton, Ill., and Jeremy Williams of Springfield, Ill., three grandchildren whom she and husband, James raised: Shannon (Ted) Maddox of Enfield, Ill., Draper Pollard, of Pasco, Wash., Karlie (Jonathon) Weaver, of Belleville, Ill., a sister, Janet (Jack) Herrin of Cape Girardeau, Mo., a brother, Howard George (Karen) Draper II of Snow Mass, Colo., 17 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
There will be a celebration of her life at Crossroads Bible Church st 2:00 p.m., on Sunday February 7, 2016. Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City is in charge of arrangements.
