Derek Capps

Derek Morris Capps, 32, of Carmi passed away on Thursday,  December 17, 2020.  He was born on January 21, 1988 the son of Timothy and Patricia(Givens) Capps. He married Audrey Vaughn on February 17, 2016.  Derek enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and spending time in nature.

Derek is survived by his parents; his wife Audrey Capps of Norris City, IL.; his son Baylor Morris Capps and step-son Seth Jarvis of Norris City, IL.; his sister Debra Greene of Carmi; his niece and nephews, Daxton and Cobie Greene and Carson Williams all of Carmi, IL.;several aunts, uncles and cousins and his Best canine friend Waylon. He was preceded in death by his grandparents James and Mary Givens, and Luie and Nell Capps.

Graveside services for Derek Morris Capps will be held at 3:00 pm, on Sunday, December 20, 2020 with burial at Bethlehem Cemetery  in Bremen, Kentucky. Visitation will be held  from 5 to 7 p,m. on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Derek's memory to the Capps Educational Fund and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi at 609 W. Main St. Carmi, IL. 62821, who is in charge of arrangements. In accordance with CDC and IDPH recommendations, MASKS WILL BE REQUIRED and social distancing will be enforced.
