Denny Trefftzs

Denny Trefftzs, 34, of Carmi passed away at 6:47 p.m., on Sunday, April 4, 2021 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, IN.  He was born on March 3, 1987 in Evansville, Indiana the son of Kristi (Tolley) Trefftzs.  Denny was a 2005 graduate of Carmi White County High School and went on to work in the coal industry as a coal miner.  He was a member of Ridge Baptist Church in Grayville.  Denny loved to fish and play video games and board games, especially Risk, but his greatest joy was spending time with his friends and nieces and nephews.

Denny is survived by his mother, Kristi of Carmi; grandmother, Allena Tolley of Carmi; two brothers, Devin (Katelyn) Trefftzs of Carmi and Dylan Tomassetti of Hazelton, IN; four nieces, Marlee, Maizie, Piper and Chloe and two nephews, Jordan and Bennett. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Don Tolley; great-grandparents, Elza and Sarah Jones; an uncle, Ron Tolley and a cousin, Jennifer Tolley

Funeral services for Denny Trefftzs, 34, of Carmi will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 8, 2021 at Stendeback Funeral Home in Carmi.  Burial will be in Stokes Chapel Cemetery near Crossville.  Visitation will be held at Stendeback Funeral Home in Carmi from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p,m. on Wednesday, April 7, 2021.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Denny's memory to Stendeback Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses. In accordance with CDC and IDPH recommendations, social distancing will be observed and face coverings will be required.
