Dennis Mason

Dennis Wayne Mason, 67, of Mt. Vernon, peacefully passed away at his home with family by his side on Friday, August 2, 2019. Denny was born on September 25, 1951 in the Upton community to Arby and Daisy Mason.
In his earlier years he spent a lot of his time working on cars, he loved rebuilding motors and would gladly give guidance (from his wheelchair) to anyone who needed it. He loved to dance and never let his wheelchair interfere with his ability to dance. He was fiercely independent despite his disability. Later years were spent enjoying watching tv and visiting with family. He will be dearly missed.

He was proceeded in death by his parents Arby and Daisy Mason. He is survived by nine siblings. Goldie Marshall, Arby Mason, Alfred (Margaret) Mason, Mary Gardner, Esther Johnson, Sharon (Robert) Burdette, Cathy (George) Wagner, Jon (Carolyn) Mason and Martha (Ed) Schaffer, as well as friends Eric and Ace who helped him in many ways and numerous nieces and nephews that he was close to.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm at Harvestime Temple in Mt. Vernon on Monday, August 5, 2019. Visitation will take place from 4:00 pm to time of service. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to “Dennis Mason’s Niece” at any United Fidelity Bank to help defer medical cost for Denny’s niece that is battling cancer.
