Delores Benner

Delores Rae Benner, 78 of Mount Vernon, passed away Saturday morning December 20, 2104 at Deaconess Hospice in Evansville. She was born September 2, 1936 in Point Township, the daughter of Harry Lee and Marie (Yeida) Robinson. She married Lee Roy Benner and he preceded her in death on February 26, 2001.

Delores had worked at Exelon Company in Mt. Vernon. She was a 50 plus year member of Owen Dunn Post Auxiliary and the Mt. Vernon Moose. She enjoyed writing. She was a longtime member of the Point Township Church of the Nazarene.

She is survived by 2 sons, Terry L. (Julie) Benner and Brett L. (Amber) Benner; 3 grandchildren, Zachary, Colton Lee and Brittany; 3 brothers, Dallas (Barb) Robinson of Mt. Vernon, Dennis (Kate) Robinson of Batvia, IA, and Harry Lee Jr. (Bonnie) Robinson of Pace, FL; 2 sisters, Rose Marie (Larry) Moore of Knoxville, TN and Helen (Bill) Cowan of Mt. Vernon. She was preceded in death by 1 brother, George Robinson and 2 sisters, Charlotte Robinson and Rita Sherretz.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday December 23, 2014 at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home at 1330 E. 4th St. Mt. Vernon, IN with burial in Bellefontaine Cemetery.
