Debra Shahan

Debra R. Shahan, 47 of Mt. Vernon, passed away early Saturday morning September 26, 2015 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. She was born April 1, 1968 in Muncie, IN, the daughter of Ernest Eugene and Patricia (Hahn) DeForrest.

Debra loved playing football, dancing and singing, but most of all, she loved her grandchildren.

She is survived by her parents, Ernest Eugene DeForrest, her mother, Patricia Vanderver; her sons, Ryan and Justin Shahan; her daughters, Courtney (Chuck, Jr.) Seidensticker and Rachael Shahan; 7 grandchildren, brother, Ty DeForrest; step-fathers, Jerry Vanderver and Chuck Seidensticker, Sr. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Shahan; sons, Jerry Wayne and Cody Shahan; and sister, Patsy DeForrest.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday October 2, 2015 at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with burial in Weiss Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at stendebackfamilyfuneralhome.com
