Debbie Hall, age 63 of Carmi, was able to run from this earthly life into the presence of our Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 3, 2018. Debbie lived life exemplifying her favorite scripture, “I can do all things through Christ Jesus who gives me strength,” Philippians 4:13.
Debbie was born on January 1, 1955 to Gene and Dorothy Meritt who proceeded her in death. She was married to Jim Hall in 1976, who was her best Friend and faithful care giver throughout their marriage. They had one son Brian who she loved with her whole heart.
Debbie was a member of the First Christian Church where she taught Children’s Sunday School for many years and remained active in her Sunday School Class and Bible Studies. She truly was a Servant in life and served on many Boards throughout the years, including Carmi-White Co School Board, Tri Co Coleman Services, White Co Senior Citizens and was instrumental in the activities at The Carmi House. Even in her work career as a Caseworker, she was always an advocate for Children and those who were physically and mentally challenged.
Debbie is survived by her husband Jim, son and daughter in law, Brian and Sarah Hall and grandchildren Ethan and Izzy all of Boonville IN, sister, Kathy and Jim Whetstone of Carmi, many very special Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins. Debbie was Blessed to have Dear Friends who were by her side so many times to help with her physical needs during the difficult times of life. Her greatest Joys in life were Izzy and Ethan who filled her life with love, along with the puppy dogs she loved.
A celebration of Debbie’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 6, 2018 at the First Christian Church in Carmi with Greg Grant officiating. Burial will follow in Big Prairie Cemetery near Carmi. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the First Christian Church and on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial contributions be made to Wabash Christian Village or the Carmi House and they will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi who is in charge of arrangements.
