Dean Healy, 71, of Norris City passed away at 9:14 a.m., Friday, July 25, 2014 at his residence. He was born October 16, 1942 in McLeansboro, IL the son of James William and Sylvia Arvilla (Rumsey) Healy. Dean married Paula Sue Forth on December 11, 1968. He was a member and deacon at Ditney Ridge Baptist Church as well as a member of White County Farm Bureau, FFA Alumni and a former member of the NCOE School Board. Dean was a grain farmer and operated Healy Farms.
Dean is survived by his wife of 45 years, Paula; a daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Steven Short of Broughton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Jessi Healy and Phillip and Holly Healy all of Norris City; three grandchildren, Hunter Healy, Brooke Healy and Annsley Healy; aunts and uncles Fern and James Rister of Omaha, Gene McEwen of Virginia, Wilma Rumsey of Carmi and Joel and JoAnn Healy of Norris City; along with several cousins.
Funeral Services for Dean Healy, 71, of Norris City will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 28, 2014 at Ditney Ridge Baptist Church in Norris City with Pastor Chris Marsh officiating. Burial will be in Ditney Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City on Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m at the church. Memorial Contributions may be made in Dean's memory to the NCOE FFA Alumni Association or American Diabetes Association and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City.
