David Alan Koehler, 72, of Carmi passed away at 4:29 a.m., Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at his residence. He was born in Chicago, IL on February 26, 1944 the son of Herman and Dorothy (Dutton) Koehler. David married Judith Diane Hortin on June 12, 1964. He was the owner/operator of Ideal Pest Control. David really enjoyed watching and traveling with the Southern Envy Girls Softball Team which he also sponsored. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and watching the Chicago Cubs.
David is survived by his wife of 52 years, Judy; two daughters, Kelley and Scott Hyatt of Crossville and Toni and Chris Miller of Chandler, IN; a half brother, Timothy Wells; nine grandchildren. William and Brianna Camp, Julia and Jarod McKenzie, Lane Camp, Logan Fisk, Ashlynn Peterson, Cole Peterson, Alex Miller and Madison and Reed Koehler and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Herman and Dorothy Koehler, his son David A. "Duke" Koehler, Jr and his sister Andrea Staar.
Funeral services for David A. Koehler, 72, of Carmi will be at 7:00 p.m., Friday, January 27, 2017 at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi with Tim Gholson officiating. Burial will be in White County Memorial Garden at a later date. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until service time at 7:00 p.m. on Friday January 27, 2017 at Campbell Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made in David's memory to the American Cancer Society and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi.
