David Junior Winters 72 of Mt. Vernon, IN, passed away early Sunday morning May 6, 2018 at the Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville. He was born June 14, 1945 in DeMoine, IA the son of John and Mary (Gwaltney) Winters. He was married Janice Whited.
David retired as a truck driver. He enjoyed playing bingo and going to yard sales. He was a United States Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife Janice; sons, Richard Michaels of Clearwater, FL, Randy David Winters of Chesterfield, IN and William Charles Winters of Carmi; daughters, Traci Lea Clark of San Antonio, TX and Debra Kay Kiker of Wichita, KS; 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; brother, George Cherry of Sesser, IL; sisters, Mary Waller of St. Louis, Rose Button of Christopher, IL and Carolyn Howe of Centralia, IL. He was preceded in death by daughters, Barbara Jo Clark and Karen Sue Thompson; and brother, Jim Cherry.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday May 9, 2018 at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home at 200 S. Walnut St., Carmi, IL. In lieu of flowers, Memorials are suggested to the funeral home to help defray funeral costs. Online condolences may be left at stendebackfamilyfuneralhome.com
