David Schneider

July 16, 1952 - August 5, 2014

James David Schneider, 62 of Carmi, passed away early Tuesday morning August 5, 2014 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Evansville. He was born July 16, 1952 in Eldorado, the son of James and Gertrude (Haney) Schneider. He married Gale Gatter on December 21, 1974 in Carmi.

David was a lifelong farmer, most recently working for Brown Feed in Carmi.

He is survived by his wife Gale; his daughter, Lisa (Jimmy Browning) Schneider of Carmi; 2 grandchildren, Jacob Schneider and Brenna Browning; 2 brothers, Phil (Carol) Schneider of Joplin, MO and Chris (Tammy) Schneider of Carmi; 4 sisters, Susie Kuykendall of Carmi, Marlys (Joe) Brown of Herald, Linda (Tom) Witherspoon of KY and Mary Webb of IN. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and his in-laws, Louis and Betty Gatter. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 son, James Louis Schnieder; and 1 brother, Allen Schneider.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday August 8, 2014 at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Carmi with burial in St. Polycarp Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at stendebackfamilyfuneralhome.com
