David Bertram

David Aage Bertram, 71 of Johnston City, IL, passed away at 11:41 a.m. on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 in Herrin Hospital. David was born on December 2, 1949 in Evansville, IN the son of Aage Bud and Emma Jean (Hall) Bertram. David was retired having last worked as a hoistman for White County Coal at the Pattiki Mine in Carmi. He greatly enjoyed Fishing, Boating, Camping and Barbecuing. most of all he loved spending time with his family.

Survivors include, seven children, Todd Barrall of Eldorado, IL, Jason Barrall of Grants Pass, OR, Walter Bertram of Thompsonville, IL, Josh (Jessica) Bertram of Norris City, IL, Curtis Bertram of McLeansboro, IL, Rosa Bertram Burkes of Marion, IL and Vickie Hall of Eldorado, IL; eleven grandchildren, Ashley (Tyler Bell) Bertram, Wyatt Bertram, Saylor Bertram, Ethan Karnes, Prestyn Karnes, Aage David Burkes, Jacinda Cross, Gavin Cross, Grace Burkes, Breonna Irvin, Brittani Hatton, and Sara Irvin; three great-grandchildren, Emmalee Mae Bell, Carter David Bell and Adalynn Karnes; Best Friend, Barbara Fletcher of Thompsonville, IL. David was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral Services for David Aage Bertram, 71 of Johnston City, IL, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Carmi, IL. Friends and family may visit from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial with full military honors will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in Fairfield, IL. In accordance with CDC and IDPH recommendations, social distancing will be observed and wearing masks will be required.
