Danny Perkins

Danny Perkins, 50, of Mt. Vernon, IN, died at 11:59 pm, Thursday, August 10, 2006 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. Danny was born February 13, 1956 son of Walter Daniel and Dorothy (Ashby) Perkins. Danny was General Manager of Poshard Trucking and Co-Owner of Zapps, Inc. Trucking Company both in Mt. Vernon. He loved golfing, riding his lawnmower, spending time with his grandkids, singing, grilling, watching movies from his chair, and spending time at the lake with his brother and family on his house boat. Danny was a member of the Elks and a longtime member of Western Hills Country Club in Mt. Vernon. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ethel and Prentice Ashby and Enoch Edgar and Mary Pearl Perkins.

He is survived by: his parents, his wife, Viki (Greene) Erwin Perkins; daughters, Danielle Henderson and her husband Jason, DeAnne Brauser and her husband Brent, both of Mt. Vernon, IN, Melissa Erwin of Evansville, IN; son, Jacob “Jake” Erwin and his wife Missy of Norfolk, VA; his sister Kathy Embry and her husband Kevin; two brothers, Jeff Perkins and his wife Jo, and Tim Perkins and is wife Retta all of Mt. Washington, KY; seven grandchildren, Brylan and Ryan Brauser, Madalyn and Drake Perkins, Delayne and Dru Henderson all of Mt. Vernon , Landon Erwin of Evansville and one grandson due next month; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Monday, August 14, 2006 at First United Methodist Church, 601 Main Street, Mt. Vernon, IN, with Rev. Dallas Robinson and Rev. Russ Abel officiating. Burial in the Bellefontaine Cemetery in Mt. Vernon. Friends may call from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Sunday, August 13, at the funeral home.
