Danelle Holtzclaw, 81, of Carmi passed away at 12:38 p.m., Friday, June 16, 2017 at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, IN. She was born March 14, 1936 the daughter of John Daniel and Marian (Boudrie) Farny. Danelle married Glen "Sarge" Holtzclaw on February 14, 1986 and he survives. She worked as a hairdresser, worked for the Carmi Times and H&R Block, and assisted seniors with their tax returns. Danelle was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and VFW Auxiliary where she served in various positions including being a past president of both clubs. She also served in various roles within the American Legion District, including President. Danelle loved spending time with her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. She also enjoyed playing bingo at the VFW as well as crafting.
Danelle is survived by a son, Harold "Cork" (Brenda) Pennington of Carmi; two daughters, Rosemary (Jack) Aud of Carmi, and Becky (Scott) Flowers of Holland, MI; three step-children, Sharon (Robert) Nichols of Westfield, IN, Jan Rodgers of Indianapolis, IN, and Glenda Jackson, of Dix, IL; three grandchildren, Jackie (Michael) Flechs and Kendra Pennington, all of Carmi, and Cody (Kelsey) Flowers, of Grand Rapids, MI; 11 step-grandchildren, Robin Clark, Doris Wainwright, Michael Nichols, Daryl Holtzclaw, Kelly Higgins, Randy Minnerup, Christopher Minnerup, Shelley Brown, Robert Lee Maxfield, Melissa Haycraft, and Kenny Jackson; four great-grandchildren, Jacob Pennington, Brooklyn Yon, Kaden Pennington, and Daniel Flechs; as well as many step great-grandchildren.
Danelle was preceded in death by her parents, John D. Farny and Marian Brown; two grandsons, John Aud and Zachary Flowers, a step-daughter, Nancy Minnerup, and step-grandchildren, Kevin Minnerup and Barbara Poling.
Funeral services for Danelle Holtzclaw, 81, of Carmi will be held Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi with Rev. Van Scott officiating. Burial will be in Kuykendall Cemetery near Carmi. Visitation will be on Monday, June 19, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home. Memorial contributions in Danelle's memory may be made to the American Legion Auxiliary or the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home.
