Dallas Gunnels

Dallas Gunnels, 68, of Mt. Vernon died, Tuesday, May 2, 2006 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. Dallas was born January 6, 1938 in Burnt Prairie, IL son of Doice and Verla (Nibbling) Gunnels. He was a welder and pipefiter with Local 136 in Evansville. Dallas was a member of the Eagles, Moose and Sons of the American Legion all in Mt. Vernon.

He is survived by: his wife of more than 25 years, Marge (Mattingly) Gunnels of Mt. Vernon; step-sons, John, Roger and Bill Reynolds of Mt. Vernon; step-daughter, Susie Voyles of Williamsport, IN; a brother, Don Gunnels and his wife Janice of Mt. Vernon; 18 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 6, 2006 at Austin Funeral Home, 1330 East Fourth Street, Mt. Vernon, IN with burial in the Bellefontaine Cemetery in Mt. Vernon. Friends may call from 6: 00 PM – 8:00 PM on Friday, at the funeral home where a Moose service will be held at 7:00 PM.
