Daisy O'Neal

Daisy M. O'Neal, 85, of Norris City passed away Friday, March 8, 2013 at 6:54 p.m at Phoenix Rehab and Nursing in Carmi. She was born August 10, 1927 in Maunie, IL the daughter of Emeart Elvis and Donna Mae (Frymire) James. Daisy married Leonard R. "Bunny" O'Neal on September 14, 1945 and he preceded her in death on June 4, 2006. She had worked in the pressing room at Ainsbrook Garment Factory.

Daisy is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Roger Knight of Carmi; two sons and a daughter-in-law, David and Pam O'Neal of Columbia, IL and Kendall O'Neal and companion Cindy Burnett of Maunie; two sisters, Daphne Bartley of Carmi and Norma Batteese of Norris City; a brother, Donald James of Norris City; five grandchildren, Amanda O'Neal, Kyle O'Neal, Ginger Pierce, Melissa May and Aaron Cozart; two step-grandchildren, Justin and Jeremiah Johnson; and two great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda O'Neal, two sisters, Verda Shepard and Donna Cox and two brothers, Leon and Cleatus James.

Funeral services for Daisy M. O'Neal, 85, of Norris City, will be Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi with the Rev. William Jackson officiating. Burial will be in the Plainview Cemetery near Norris City. Friends may calll at the Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi on Monday, March 11, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
