Curtis Michael Champion, 37 of Springerton, passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, IL. He was born on December 14, 1978 in Carmi, the son of Michael and Vonda (Sturgal) Champion.
Curtis graduated in 2000 from Brownsville School. He loved Gospel music and loved attending Springerton Community Church. He was a very determined, fun loving and mischievous young man. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and never met a stranger. He will be remembered for loving his family and friends deeply and remaining young at heart.
He is survived by his parents, Michael and Vonda Champion; sister, Jessica (Larry) Woolston; nephews, Lawrence Ian and Logan Wyatt Woolston, niece, Emily Woolston; maternal grandmother, Vonda Sturgal; and numerous aunts, uncles & cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Carl Sturgal, John Clifford and Crystal Attalee Farris Champion,
