Connie L. Lamont, 68 of Carmi, passed away Wednesday morning August 6, 2014 at her home. She was born June 25, 1946, the daughter of Donald Gene and Rebecca (Nelson) Harrison. She married Jack Lamont on June 21, 1967 at Shawneetown.
Connie had worked as a bank teller at White County Bank and Integra for over 20 years. She was an active member of the Carmi American Legion Auxiliary and the Carmi V.F.W where she was “all about bingo” and served as the bingo treasurer. She was a very active volunteer at the VA Hospital. Connie loved her flower gardens and reading, but most important, she loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Jack; 4 sons, Kevin Savage of Albion, Kelly and Sheila Savage of Centerville, Scott and Tonia Lamont and Jerry Lamont all of Carmi; her mother, Rebecca O’Neal of Carmi; 11 grandchildren, Ethan and Cole Savage, Aadam (Courtney) Smith, Aaron (Melissa) Smith, Danyelle (David) Mitchell, Emily (Zach) Burzynski, Riley Moss, Ashley (Mike) French, Andrew (Laci Slay) Lamont, Kayley Lamont, and Jacklyn Lamont; 9 great-grandchildren, Michael Smith, Gabe and Colton Smith, Seth and Lexie Mitchell, Cadence and Caden Burzynski, Madison and Morgan Strong, Mason French, Landi Slay and identical twin boys being born in September; 1 brother, Ronald Beck of Carmi; 1 sister, Kathy (Randy) Buchanan of Carmi; a brother-in-law Don Heibert of Norris City and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, and 2 sisters, Donna Rose and Jeanie Heibert.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday August 9, 2014 at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Carmi with Rev. Dallas Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Centerville Cemetery.
