Cleatus A. Jones, Sr., 72 of Mount Vernon, IN passed away Saturday morning July1, 2017 at Deaconess Hospital. He was born July 11, 1944 in Walnut Ridge, AR, the son of Amos and Arvina (Allison) Jones. He married Marilyn Sue Kerby on July 1, 1963 and she preceded him in death on November 21, 2010.
Cleatus was a Pipefitter, working out of Local #136.
He is survived by his son, Cleatus A. Jones, Jr.; grandchildren, Casey (Chelsea) Bass, Brenna Bass and Amanda (Jonathon) Brock; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Donnie, Kenny DeWayne and Jerry; sisters, Carolyn Smith, Lenda Bellah and Jackie Winchester. He was preceded in death by his wife; brothers, Larry and Relden and sisters, Pat and Sue.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday July 5, 2017 at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home at 1330 E. 4th St., Mt. Vernon with burial in Bellefontaine Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until time of services. Online condolences may be left at stendebackfamilyfuneralhome.com
