Cindy Geier

Cindy D. Geier, age 57, of Carmi, passed away Friday, May 31, 2013, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. She was born January 20, 1956, in Elgin, IL, the daughter of Jack and Shirley (Karston) Clarke.

Cindy was a homemaker and was of the Catholic faith.

She is survived by a son, currently serving in Afghanistan with the US Army, and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Amber Geier of El Paso, TX; a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Kelly Holloman of Carmi; three brothers, Jack Jr., Brian, and Timothy Clarke; five sisters, Christine Clarke, Amy Clarke, Sherrill Ward, Karen Plutz, and Melody Brooks; five grandchildren, Gavin Holloman, Alexis Switzer, and Alex, Christopher, and Katelynn Geier; her beloved companion of twenty-seven years, John Rau; and many other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Amy Clarke.

A funeral service will be held Sunday June 9, 2013, at 5:00 pm, at Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Carmi. Reverend Mike Buckman will officiate. Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm until the time of service in the funeral home chapel. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
